Kiddix Computing Joins the Intel®-powered Classmate PC
Ecosystem Vendor Alliance
Pittsburgh, PA - Kiddix Computing, a software company who specializes
in building safe, fun, and educational computing environments for
children, has joined a select group of companies who make up the
Classmate PC Ecosystem Vendor Alliance.
Kiddix Computing's core product, the Kiddix Platform, is a complete
learning environment for young children. The Linux-based
operating system focuses on usability and educational value, while
providing industry hardened tools that keep kids safe and the computer
away from harm. Inside Kiddix, children are presented with a
customizable interface that includes applications, such as a word
processor, web browser, calendar, calculator, email, etc., a suite of
games, and dozens of educational activities that help reinforce
children's knowledge of math, reading, and science in a fun way.
The Classmate PC is Intel's rugged, affordable mobile learning device designed to enhance interactive
teaching and learning for young students. Colorful, compact and
kid-friendly, Intel-powered classmate PCs provide access to a new,
exciting world of digital information, applications and educational
services, and support individual learning styles and multi-modal
learning through interactive educational content, peer collaboration,
digital content creation, and learning engagement. It even allows
teachers to develop curriculum differentiated for multiple learning
styles.
Intel-powered classmate PCs are a key element of Intel's worldwide
sustained commitment to improve education and provide the means and
support to bring "technologyenhanced" learning into education systems
and students' lives. Over 200 digital inclusion programs in over 60
countries are reaching over 10 million people a year with PCs and
Internet connectivity.
Intel started the Alliance to bring together key local and regional
companies focused on education and helping children learn through
technology. Each Alliance member offers essential products and services
- hardware, software, content, peripherals, training or support - that
contribute to the goal of providing compatible, efficient, and complete
solutions for schools.
"We are excited to join the Classmate PC Alliance," said Michael
Gualtieri, Founder & CEO of Kiddix Computing. "Intel's vision
for children's computing is very similar our own. We will be
utilizing the Ecosystem network to build strategic relationships with
OEM vendors, and some of the top educational software companies in the
U.S."
